DEATH NOTICE
Edmund Whitney
NEKOOSA -- Edmund Whitney, 60, Nekoosa, brother of Mrs. Melvin (Mary
Mae) Salzman of Arpin, Mrs. Herbert (Arlene) Salzman of Junction City
and Mrs. Robert (Linda) Koplein of Milladore, died Sunday at Riverview
Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids.
Services were today at United Church of Christ, Nekoosa. Burial was
in Riverside Cemetery.
Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home, Nekoosa, handled arrangements.
He was born Feb. 9, 1933, in the town of Sherry, to Elmer and Mary
Whitney. He married Shirley Walrath June 25, 1953, in Nekoosa.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55 during the Korean War. He
was employed by Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Co., Nekoosa Papers, Inc., Great
Northern Nekoosa Corp. and Georgia-Pacific Corp. for 36 years until
retirement as a paper machine tender May 27, 1992.
He is also survived by his wife; two sons, James and Thomas, both of
Nekoosa; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Karlene) Helmuth of Wisconsin
Rapids and Mrs. Wayne (Sandra) Getzloff of Nekoosa; and six
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and three sisters.
Memorials may be designated to the American Heart Association.
