Jan and his Family were headed to meet an Uncle (Josef Fulier) in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, according to the emmigration records when they came to the USA. This person might have been but a landowner acquiring people to get workers. Jan had to pay off
their debt before they were allowed to leave the farm. Sometime after leaving this farm in Pennsylvania, Jan and his family traveled east to New York to reside there.
John was in WWI in Slovakia and was gassed during the war. He had breathing problems ever since then. He was in the Czech cavalry.
Came through Ellis Island, USA 06 Sep 1923 with his wife and daughter Julia.
They were headed for Palmerton, PA (Carbon County) (in/near Poconos) to
meet an uncle Josef Fulier

Next, the family moved to a farm approximately 7 miles south of Marathon
City, WI, on Highway 107.
In 1913, they moved to Colby Wisconsin and ran the Commercial Hotel which
was located where the Ford Garage is today (The year 2000).
Their next move was to a farm about 4 miles SouthEast of Medford, WI.
In 1916, they moved to 433 West Cedar Street. John became the Church
Custodian. John took sick here, and was operated on by St. Mary's
Hospital in Tomohawk, WI. It was then that they discovered that he had
pancreatic cancer. He lived 6 weeks and then passed away and was laid
to rest in the Marathon City Cemetery.
John was Baptised by Rev. Simon Barton. John Werner and Gertrude Werner were sponsors.
