Penelope 'Penny' Joyce Buchberger
Penelope "Penny" Joyce Buchberger, 59, Plover, a Stevens Point area Realtor, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield due to complications of cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield.
Visitation will be at the church from 5to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the services.
Memorials will be established by the family to the American Cancer Society and the Wisconsin MS Society in her name.
The Leikness Funeral Home of Wautoma is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Buchberger was born July 29, 1942, a daughter of the late Col. Robert Bernard and Eleanor Joyce Randle. She graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School in New York and attended Edgewood College in Madison.
She was married to Sylvester Buchberger of Plainfield on Aug. 10, 1963, in Madison. He preceded her in death.
She was a teacher, a news reporter for the Waushara Argus and Oshkosh Northwestern and the manager of Central Computers in Wisconsin Rapids. Most recently she was a Realtor for Northwoods Realty and worked for Rice Medical Center in Stevens Point.
She served as president of Newcomers Club in Plover and the Tri-County PTA in Plainfield.
She was a CCD teacher, Ladies Society member and Building Committee member at St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield. She was a longtime member of the choir, a Eucharistic minister, director of confirmation studies and involved in religious education
classes at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover.
She was a longtime member of the Plainfield Lions Club, the National Association of Realtors, Central Wisconsin Board of Realtors and the Central Wisconsin Multiple Listing Service.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne Randle (Ann), Hancock, and Robert John (Brenda) and Thomas Michael (Laurie), both of Plainfield; one daughter, Kathleen Marie (Curt) Coppenbarger, Verona; two brothers, Robert Bernard Randle II, Fairfax, Va., and
Michael Thomas Randle, Woodbine, Md.; and one granddaughter.
